Avant Garden Bistro L.A., opened in West Hollywood at 7469 Melrose Avenue on June 1, 2022, bringing Overthrow Hospitality’s mission-driven, plant-based restaurant and bar group to the West Coast. Serving elevated New American vegan cuisine, chef Sarah Stearns’ New American menu showcases the group’s greatest culinary hits with her own Los Angeles spin. The new bistro will also feature low-ABV cocktails by Master Mixologist Sother Teague and celebrate natural vegan-friendly wines curated by Master Sommelier Brett Zimmerman and Los Angeles-focused craft beer by Ramon Hung.

Recently nominated for a 2022 James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurateur, Ravi DeRossi, founder and proprietor of Overthrow Hospitality, decided to bring their concept to Los Angeles, “combining the best aspects of our NYC venues with localized new creations, outstanding wines, great cocktails and craft beer. With L.A. now and other cities in the pipeline, we will be taking this model across the U.S., so stay tuned.”

Avant Garden Bistro

With an interior evoking a timeless French bistro with New York City inspiration and an outdoor garden designed by Andrew Nowling, the restaurant offers two distinct options that are both elegant, yet sensuous. The outdoor garden transports diners into a fantastical, enchanted forest with chandeliers inspired the natural enhancement of the environment and beautiful sculpted faces emerging from the brick walls.
