Beyond Sausages

To celebrate the (unofficial) start of summer, The Economist is giving New Yorkers the chance to try “hot dog style” Beyond Sausages for FREE. The Economist’s red NYC Hot Dog cart will be traveling around the city from now until mid June giving passersby a taste of the plant based treat, and educating them on the alternative protein market as part of the publications Feeding the Future campaign.

The Economist, a leading source of analysis on international business and world affairs, will launch its latest consumer engagement execution, “Fast Forward Food,” in New York City on May 14th, as part of its Feeding the Future campaign featuring fresh plant based sausages, Beyond Sausage®. The campaign is based on a report entitled “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Beef” from 1843, sister publication to The Economist, and aims to highlight the alternative protein market, as well as the impact of consuming meat regularly. The activation is launched in partnership with real world marketing agency Sense New York

An Economist-branded NYC hot dog cart will take to the streets of New York City offering consumers “hot dog style” Beyond Sausages in celebration of the impending Memorial Day holiday (and warmer summer weather). Consumers who participate in the “Fast Forward Food” program will have an opportunity to subscribe to The Economist at an introductory rate of 12 weeks for $12, and as a special gift can opt to have the publication plant a tree on their behalf.
