Ecotour Company Launches Life-Changing Uganda Trek

Uganda gorillas

Terra Incognita Ecotours launched nearly ten years ago with one goal in mind – to give away their profits. Every ecotour is meticulously organized not only to provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences, but to give back financially to every community they visit. It took him years to create the perfect itinerary, but founder Ged Caddick has now put together a tour that will prove to be the ultimate African adventure. There’s no place on Earth besides Uganda where tourists can literally check dozens of items off their bucket list in just eight days.

Chimpanzees, check. Elephants, check. Incredible safari animals like giraffes, hippos, Cape buffalo and warthogs, check. Need more? How about coming face to face with one of the most endangered mammals on the planet – Mountain Gorillas. Unbelievably, Mountain Gorillas, check. Dozens of other exotic and endangered primates, bird life, hooved mammals, cats big and small, check. Oh wait; did we mention tree-climbing lions? Yes, you heard us right – one of the only places on the planet to boast tree-climbing lions – all in Uganda, all will be witnessed during Terra Incognita Ecotours’ brand new Wildlife of Uganda ecotour – and all in just 8 magnificent days!

Terra Incognita Ecotours has a pretty outrageous mission – to travel the world thoughtfully, respectfully and to make a difference. Terra Incognita Ecotours has donated more than $130,000 to seven countries already and Uganda will be no different. All Uganda ecotourists will meet The Gorilla Doctors – a group of dedicated veterinarians providing in situ conservation efforts to sick and injured wild mountain gorillas living in Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. “With only 880 mountain gorillas in the world today, the health of every individual is vital to this species’ survival,” says Ged. “And the financial support we provide the Gorilla Doctors because of our tours is equally as vital.”

If Great Apes get you going, all ecotourists on the Uganda trip will have the life-changing opportunity not only to visit with an endangered Mountain Gorilla family in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, but a chimpanzee family in the Kibale Forest as well. Two separate hikes through primary forest covered with magnificent 200-foot tall trees, two bucket-list opportunities that words simply cannot describe. For their chimp trek, ecotourists will stay at the Primate Lodge, just 100 yards from where they begin their astounding hike to view wild chimps. They will stay at Gorilla Forest Camp inside Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for their heart-stopping gorilla trek – the same lodge that is featured in the viral video where wild gorillas stop to innocently groom a tourist!

“Uganda is the only place in the world where you can view two species of endangered Great Apes up close and personal as well as get the full safari experience with lions, hippos, elephants, and giraffes” exclaims Ged. “In fact, all of our groups will have the opportunity to see tree-climbing lions – an internationally discussed scientific phenomenon. I’m so excited about the potential to give back to the Ugandan community – both financially and by providing local, sustainable jobs. For so many reasons, this will be one of our best – and most popular tours ever!”
