Animals Asia presents once in a lifetime journey to visit China’s endangered moon bears

Animals Asia trip Lhasa Tibet
Potala Palace - Lhasa, Tibet

Animals Asia presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience Asia, visit endangered moon bears and pandas, and help the animals that we save through much needed fundraising.

In parts of Asia moon bears are incarcerated in small cages and painfully milked for their bile for as long as 30 years. The bile is used in traditional Asian medicine despite the availability of herbal and synthetic alternatives. Led by Founder and CEO Jill Robinson, Animals Asia works to end the cruel practice of bear farming. Rescued bears come to live in our two placid sanctuaries, located in China and Vietnam.

Animals Asia’s Huma Challenge, organized by leading global travel experts World Expeditions, begins in one of Asia’s most majestic cities, Beijing. Participants will explore the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and remote parts of the Great Wall before flying to Chengdu to visit rescued moon bears at our spacious China Bear Rescue Center and peaceful pandas at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Center. Travellers then embark by train to Lhasa where they will have the opportunity to take in sites such as the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple, and the Norbulingka.

As part of the Huma Challenge, participants pledge to fundraise a target of $1,000 in donations to Animals Asia Foundation. The much needed funds go towards enriching of the livers of bears at our China rescue center . As part of the trip, Jill Robinson will show travellers first hand how their funds will be used to heal the bears who have spent decades behind bars.
